Thank you for sharing! My favorite reads of 2023: (1) What I learned about investing from Darwin, (2) Material World (Ed Conway), (3) Last Among Equals (MR Sharan), (4) Carbon (Kate Ervine), (5) Same as Ever (Morgan Housel), (6) Elon Musk (Walter Isaacson), (7) American Prometheus ( Kai Bird, Martin J. Sherwin).
Thanks for the recommendations! I especially loved the podcast ones, will definitely check them out.
5 books I think you might enjoy:
My favorite fiction book this year was ‘A Gentleman in Moscow’. A unique concept, great characters and terrific writing. You’ll have to space out this one too :)
In the old category I loved Clark’s ‘Childhood’s End’, and Kressings classic ‘The Cook’. It’s short and unconventional, but a great read.
“Flowers for Algernon” is also an old time classic that I really enjoy. It tells the story of a retarded man who underwent an operation to increase his IQ, and told from the standpoint of his diary.
And my last recommendation is ‘Mans Search for meaning’. A tougher read.
The cook is controversial one and not for everyone, so I suggest the flowers for algernon first (because I’m afraid that after it you won’t listen to more recommendations from me 😂)
Some great recommendations. Will pick up Papyrus, sounds interesting. Also if you liked Shoegaze, try listening to Meltt. Also since you mention Beach House, you might also like Gangs of Youth! Cheers.
